I slept zero minutes Tuesday night. I wasn’t anxious or having hot flashes or feeling anything other than just plain awake. I was thinking about things, but not ruminating.
When I finally got out of bed Wednesday morning, I knew I was going to have a tired day. I gave myself grace in advance. Whatever I can do would be great. It’s okay to move a little slower today. I skipped the gym, not wanting to tax my already exhausted being.
I gave myself grace.
And, interestingly, I was also connecting on text and email with my two Graces this week. Coincidence? Or maybe a reminder.
Giving myself grace today, I'm resharing one of my favorite essays. It's about grace and Grace and Grace. Years later, I'm realizing that grace is also a gift we can give ourselves.
My heart still feels everything listed in the essay Grace Held My Hand.
And even more.
How is grace showing up in your week?
How are you giving yourself a little grace these days?
If this reminded you of someone who might be navigating life’s glitches, I'd love if you'd share it. It’s my hope to keep building the threads of connection between us!
